This week in school we began working on our countertops. We have two variants. One with a backsplash for a kitchen. And one with a 48 diameter hole in the corner for a computer desk.
Both are constructed out of particle board with laminate on top and bottom. The main focus of the project is working with laminate. Cutting to size, applying to particle board with contact cement, cutting down with a straight cut router and a 22.5 bit. With our instructor asking us to pay special attention when filing the round over.
This project is a faster one. I am ahead and was able to take Friday off. I estimate I should be done by Monday noon. Tuesday latest.
Here’s a quick video of me glueing up my mitered edges on the computer countertop.
